Matt Foucault
Matt resides in Somerset, WI with his wife and 3 children. They have called the Somerset School District home for their kids and want to see it thrive. Matt is active in his community and sees a need for even more involvement now. "This is about the future of our community and our kids", "there is a need for change". It is Matt's goal to provide an environment where every child in his community is given the opportunity to succeed through the choices they make. He stands for giving the children, staff and teachers the support they need to see that success through.
"There needs to be shared responsibility of the collective school board members, staff and teachers for this to happen."
Having their 2 boys participate in Somerset hockey has been a joy for their family. Matt has served on the board of the Somerset Hockey Association, and hopes to continue to do so. It is his passion to help "get and keep kids active in sports". He has a unique look into challenges and root cause impeding children from realizing their successes having worked in law enforcement as a public servant for the last 18 years. "There is an opportunity to help support kids in being successful by getting them and keeping them involved with sports". He sees significant value in giving children opportunities to succeed".
There are many current issues that are facing our school district all over the country. Matt wants to protect the kids minds, and be a voice of reason. One impending issue that Somerset has upon it is that buildings are nearing capacity, so we could see a drastic tax impact in the future. Keeping the district financially sound is critical as community and student demands evolve.
